In the film, she performed the role of a young girl who married a middle aged man (the character Shah Rukh Khan is playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka appeared in the 2010 film "Badmash Company" together with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang, Vir Das. The film received mixed reviews. Anushka was in a movie named Band Baaja Baaraat, starring Ranveer in which she portrayed a Punjabi-American girl of middle-class who starts her wedding planning business. This movie was well received and was a huge success. Anushka's contract for three films with Yash Raj Films was completed with Band Baaja Baaraat.
